White Sandwich Bread Recipe
Make two loaves in just two hours.
This is my new go-to white bread recipe. I make it once a week because it’s so simple and turns out perfect every time. My favorite thing to do is freeze one loaf, so I have a spare one to use any time. You can also use half of the dough to make one sandwich loaf and use the other half to make dinner rolls, garlic knots or buns. My favorite brand of flour to use is King Arthur.
Oven: 350F | Prep Time: 1.5 hrs | Bake Time: 30 mins
Ingredients:
2 cups warm water
¼ cup sugar
2 Tbsp active dry yeast
2 tsp sea salt
¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
5-6 cups all purpose flour
Butter for greasing
Combine water, yeast and sugar in a stand mixer and let sit for 5 minutes until bubbly.
Add salt, olive oil and 5 cups of flour. Use a bread hook attachment and knead for 5 minutes. Add up to 1 more cup of flour if dough is too sticky.
Cover bowl with a towel and let dough rise for one hour. Meanwhile, grease two loaf pans with butter.
Knead the dough by hand for another 5 minutes. Divide it in half and knead it into each loaf pan.
Let the dough rise for 30 minutes in the pans covered with a towel.
Preheat oven to 350F. Bake for 30 minutes. Let bread cool completely before slicing and serving.
